Question 1

Is artocracy free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes, artocracy is completely free for all artists — forever. There are no hidden fees, no subscription plans, and no commissions on sales. You can create your immersive 3D virtual gallery, upload unlimited artworks (up to 14 per exhibition), customize your exhibition with titles and descriptions, and share it globally without paying anything.

Question 2

How many artworks can I display in my virtual gallery?

Accepted Answer

Each gallery includes 14 exhibition slots strategically positioned for maximum visual impact. Four artworks are displayed on a central pillar that visitors see immediately upon entering — perfect for your flagship pieces. The remaining ten slots are distributed across the exterior walls, creating a natural flow as visitors explore your space.

Question 3

What types of art can I exhibit on artocracy?

Accepted Answer

artocracy supports a wide range of visual art forms including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, digital illustrations, photography (portrait, landscape, street, abstract), mixed media, collage, graphic design, concept art, and NFT artwork. We support high-resolution uploads in JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats.

Question 4

How do visitors experience my virtual gallery?

Accepted Answer

Visitors enter your gallery through an immersive 3D environment built with cutting-edge WebGL technology. They navigate using keyboard controls (WASD or arrow keys) and mouse to look around — just like walking through a real museum. Clicking on any artwork opens a detailed view with title, description, dimensions, and creation year.

Question 5

Can I share my virtual gallery on social media?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Each gallery has a unique, permanent URL that you can share anywhere. When you post your gallery link on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or any platform, it automatically displays a beautiful preview image (Open Graph) featuring your artwork. You can also generate a QR code for your gallery.

Question 6

Do I need technical skills to create my gallery?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! artocracy is designed for artists, not developers. Creating your gallery takes just a few minutes: sign up, upload your artworks, add titles and descriptions, and you're ready to share. Our intuitive interface handles all the 3D rendering automatically. No coding, no 3D modeling, no technical knowledge required.

Question 7

Can collectors buy my artwork through artocracy?

Accepted Answer

artocracy is focused on exhibition rather than sales, but we make it easy for collectors to contact you. Your gallery includes a guestbook where interested buyers can leave messages, and you can add contact information and links to your website or online store in your artist bio.

Question 8

How is artocracy different from other online gallery platforms?

Accepted Answer

Unlike flat image galleries or simple portfolio websites, artocracy offers a true immersive 3D experience. Visitors don't just scroll through images — they walk through your virtual space, experiencing your art as they would in a physical gallery. This creates emotional engagement and memorability that 2D portfolios can't match.

Question 9

Can I exhibit my art without gallery representation?

Accepted Answer

Yes! artocracy empowers independent artists to exhibit without traditional gallery gatekeepers. You don't need connections, approvals, or representation. Simply create your account, upload your work, and your exhibition goes live instantly. This is perfect for self-taught artists, emerging creators, and anyone who wants to bypass the traditional art world hierarchy.

Question 10

Is artocracy suitable for self-taught artists?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! artocracy welcomes artists of all backgrounds and experience levels. Whether you're a self-taught painter, a hobbyist photographer, or a professional illustrator, you can create a professional-looking virtual exhibition. Your work is judged on its own merit, not on credentials or formal training.

Question 11

Can photographers use artocracy for their portfolios?

Accepted Answer

Yes! artocracy is perfect for photographers who want to present their work in an immersive gallery format rather than a flat portfolio. You can showcase photography series, documentary projects, portrait collections, or any visual photography work. The 3D environment gives your photos the museum-quality presentation they deserve.

Question 12

Can I exhibit digital art and NFTs on artocracy?

Accepted Answer

Yes, artocracy supports digital art, AI art, generative art, and NFT artwork. You can display your digital creations in our immersive 3D galleries. This is perfect as a companion to NFT marketplaces — give collectors an immersive experience of your work before they purchase on other platforms.

Question 13

How long does it take to create a virtual gallery?

Accepted Answer

You can have your virtual gallery live in as little as 15 minutes. Simply sign up (free), upload your artworks, add titles and descriptions, and publish. There's no learning curve, no complex setup, and no approval process. Your gallery is ready to share immediately.

Question 14

What is the difference between a virtual gallery and a physical gallery?

Accepted Answer

A virtual gallery offers global reach (accessible from anywhere, anytime), zero costs (no rent, shipping, or insurance), complete control (you curate and price your work), and permanent availability. Physical galleries offer in-person experience and prestige but come with high commissions (40-60%), geographic limitations, and gatekeeping. Many artists use both strategically.

Question 15

Can art students use artocracy for their portfolios?

Accepted Answer

Yes! artocracy is ideal for art students building their first professional portfolio. It's free, professional-looking, and shareable — perfect for applications, social media, and networking. Many students use artocracy to launch their careers before graduation.
